Program

Day 1: LARNACA - ATHENS - CORINTH - PANAGIA MALEVI - SPARTA
Gathering at Larnaca airport to take our flight to Athens. Arrival, pick-up and departure for the Peloponnese where we will have five days to get to know the Laconian Land and beyond. Our first stop will be at the Isthmus and we continue to the Monastery of Malevi, a historic monastery dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and one of the largest pilgrimage sites in the Peloponnese. Free time and we continue to the beautiful city of Sparta, located under the majestic peaks of Taygetos. Check-in at our hotel and free time. Overnight.

Day 2: SPARTA - MISTRA - MONEMVASIA - SPARTA
After breakfast we will visit the Byzantine city of Mystras, located just 5 km from our hotel. The castle city, built on the slopes of Taygetos, is dominated by the imposing walls, the palaces of the Palaiologos, the residences, the Byzantine churches and the castle at the top. Time to visit the archaeological site overlooking the fertile valley, we will see the Metropolis, the church of Agios Dimitrios, the Mystras museum, the Monastery of Pantanassa, Hagia Sophia and the palaces. Then we will depart for the castle city of Monemvasia. Arriving before our eyes the unique image of the rock of Monemvasia appears. The impressions from the walk through the Old Town are unforgettable. We will see the house of Yannis Ritsos as Monemvasia was the homeland of the great poet, the old cannon and the church of Elkomenos Christos, the historic listed building of the 116th century where the museum is housed, before it was a mosque and we will go up to the Upper Town to enjoy the beautiful view. Free time. Return to our hotel. Overnight.

Day 3: SPARTA - GEROLIMENAS - AIRPORT - GYTHEIO - SPARTA
Breakfast and departure towards the south, to one of the most picturesque settlements of Mani with a small natural harbor, which in ancient times was considered a "Holy Port". The stone-built houses in combination with the rocks surrounding the village and the turquoise waters compose a particularly strong mosaic that you will hardly find an equal to. We continue to the impressive and quite well-known Aeropolis. Aeropolis is famous for its narrow streets and we continue our journey to the picturesque Limeni. Time to walk along the narrow cobblestone streets and drink your coffee. Our next stop will be in Gytheio, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and strong island breeze, uniquely combining the mountain with the sea. Free time and return to our hotel.

Day 4: SPARTA - KASTORIO - GEORGITSI - SPARTA
Breakfast and we depart for Kastoreio, which takes its name from the homonymous Kastoras river that starts right next to it. The village is located on the north side of Taygetos, stone-built but colorful, with some stone fountains, arched gates and Byzantine churches, it deserves a place in the travel exploration of the area. We continue to another beautiful village, Georgitsi, which is perched on the northeastern side of Taygetos and offers unobstructed views even as far as Gytheio. The magic of the mountain unfolds in a special way as Georgitsi of Laconia rightly bears the title: the Balcony of Taygetos. Free time for your lunch in a traditional tavern of the village. Late afternoon return to Sparta. Free time. Overnight.

Day 5: SPARTA - CAPSIA CAVE - VYTINA - LARNACA
Breakfast and time to tour Sparta, which has remained famous in world history for its military power, discipline, heroism and the myth of the abduction of the Beautiful Helen by Paris.
