Program
Day 1: LARNACA - ATHENS - EDINBURGH - ABERTEEN
Meeting at Larnaca airport and departure for Edinburgh, the "Athens of the North" as they call it. Arrival, pick-up and departure to Aberdeen. On the way we stop in the small town of St. Andrews, known as the home of golf. This small town has many historic buildings as well as Scotland's oldest university. Our next stop is the city of Dundee, which became known as the "city of discoveries" because of its scientific findings. We continue to picturesque Aberdeen, Scotland's third largest city. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: ABERTEEN - Aviemore - INVERNESS
Breakfast and guided tour of the city located at the mouth of the Di and Do rivers and characterized by ornate architecture. It is often referred to as the "granite city" as most of the buildings that have been constructed are from the granite quarried around the city. Among other things, we will see the Cathedral with its impressive twin towers, which dates from the 15th century and is a rare example of a fortified cathedral. We will then depart for Inverness, the iconic city considered the capital of the Highlands and Northern Scotland. En route we will stop at beautiful Aviemore, a small town in the heart of the Highlands. Arrival in Inverness and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 3: INVERNES - LOCH NES (CRUISE & URQART CASTLE) - INVERNES
After breakfast we will have a tour of the town which is inextricably linked to the legend of Loch Ness and the Nessie monster. Inverness is considered one of the fastest growing cities in Europe with impressive natural scenery and unrepeatable beauty. Among other things, we will see the city's Cathedral, which is an excellent example of Victorian architecture, as well as the castle, which is the city's landmark. After the tour we will continue to the world famous Loch Ness where we will enjoy a cruise on the loch with a visit to the ruins of the medieval Urquhart Castle which rises majestically above its waters. Return to Inverness and overnight.
Day 4: INVERNES - EILIAN DONAN CASTLE - ISLE OF SKY - FORT WILLIAM
Breakfast and departure to Fort William. On the way we will stop to admire one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, Eilean Donan which is built on a rocky islet. We will then cross via bridge to the largest island of the inner Hebrides, Skye. The geological changes in the area have given the Isle of Skye one of the most diverse and impressive natural landscapes in Britain and beyond. Then we will reach the picturesque port of Portree with its colorful houses along the coast. We continue to our final destination of Fort William. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5: FORT WILLIAM - BEN NEVIS - GLENCOCK - GLASGOW
After breakfast departure for Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom and one of the most popular landscapes in Scotland, visited by thousands of people every year. We will climb the carriages of the Ben Nevis Range Gondola to admire from above an incredible view that combines the magic of the steep, green mountains and lakes of this unique region of the Highlands. Next we will visit the Glencoe Fairgrounds. We continue to our final destination which is none other than classy Glasgow. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 6: GLASGOW - STIRLING
Breakfast and guided tour of Glasgow which impresses with its beautiful Victorian buildings, City Hall, Cathedral, elegant galleries and many museums. Then depart for the historic city of Stirling. On our tour we will see, among other things, the homonymous castle, one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both from a historical and architectural point of view. The castle dominates the top of the hill, on a steep rock and due to its strategic position it was one of the most important fortresses with a strong defensive position. Return to Glasgow and overnight.
Day 7: GLASGOW - EDINBURGH
After breakfast departure for Edinburgh, the "Athens of the North" as it is often called. We will see, among other things, the Palace of Holyrood, the official residence of the King when he visits Scotland and we will cross the royal mile, the most central street of the old town. The magnificent Gothic buildings that line the road, as well as the surrounding narrow streets, will take you back in time. We continue with the imposing Edinburgh Castle built on the rock, visible from miles away and a trademark of the city. Afternoon free to do your walks and shopping in this fascinating and mysterious city. Return to Glasgow and overnight.
Day 8: GLASGOW - EDINBURGH - ATHENS - LARNACA
Breakfast and departure to Edinburgh airport to catch the return flight. Arrival in Larnaca with unique images of cities and villages, beautiful natural landscapes, famous lakes and majestic castles, to remain forever engraved in our memory.
