Program
Day 1: Welcome to Cyprus
Arrival on the island from Larnaca / Paphos airport, where you will meet your guide and you will be transferred to your hotel in Akamas Peninsula, Latchi. Enjoy the welcome snacks and drinks that we will prepare for you. Check in your room and free time to enjoy the area.
Day 2: Welcome meeting & Beach walk
After breakfast, we will have our welcome meeting to get all info about Cyprus, the week and area that we are staying. Maps and brochures will be distributed as well. Then, our lovely beach walk will start from our hotel through the Polis Village. Day will start with a lovely beach walk on the famous Polis bay, where we will walk up to Asprokremmos Beach, with great view of the Mediterranean beach, mountains and locals. Then, following the road through polis, we will walk in the village up to the center, where we will have our coffee break. The village is lovely and architecture is breath taking, Apostolos Andreas Church as well as the traditional buildings of the village will take you to the mediaeval times. Included lunch as well as shopping and drinks. Then, we will have a lovely walk back with the sunset up to the hotel, enjoy the swim at the lovely beach of the hotel before the meal. Some may be tired from the day, so our bus will wait in case you do not want to walk back to the hotel. Excursion start: 11:00 Return to the hotel: 17:30. Total walk will be around 10 km. and it’s mainly easy to moderate. Included dinner and overnight at our Hotel.
Day 3: Omodos Village, Monastery of Timiou & Leisure at the Unesco Protected Village
Today we will explore the most picturesque village of Cyprus, Omodos, which is famous for its monastery, dedicated to the Holy Cross. The "Monastery of Timiou & Zoopigi Stavros" dates from 327 AD. And is known as one of the oldest and most historic monasteries on the island. The village of Omodos is famous for its wonderful culture, history and wines. So we will walk in the village, we will visit the church of Agia Paraskevi, the traditional fountains and we will get to know the traditional way of life. We will have the opportunity to buy locally handmade products until we reach the point where we will have the opportunity to enjoy homemade local wine. Free time for lunch and walk in the village. Excursion start: 08:30 Return to the hotel: 17:30. Included dinner and overnight at our Hotel.
Day 4: Join to locals and learn Cypriot Cooking with Halloumi making and Wine tasting
After breakfast, we will visit the Local Garden to buy the materials which we will learn how to cook. We will get our vegetables directly from production area as well as local shops. Then, we will visit a local house where our cooking course will be. Our target is to learn 3 course meals in one day. Also, we will watch the ladies doing Halloumi (Famous Cypriot cheese) as well as visiting Bee hive place and learn about the production of Cyprus honey. It will be a great day with locals, nice village walk, enjoy the food as well as learn the Cypriot delicious foods, each family with get Complimentary Cyprus cooking book as well. The day will finish with the local wine testing with cheese, in the hearth of the production place. Return to our hotel, relax, dinner and overnight. Excursion start: 09:30 Return to the hotel: 17:00
Day 5: Free Day or Optional Blue Lagoon Cruise
Our tour will start at 09:30, as it will be a great day for all of us. After breakfast we will have a nice walk up to the Blue Lagoon Charter place where our Glass Bottom yacht is waiting for us. The first stop is at beautiful bay called Aphrodite’s Baths where you will enjoy the magnificent beauty of the place that Goddess of Love used to take her bath. Then, the Isle of St. George, where you will be amazed by its unique beauty through our glass bottom boat, towards Plaji Bay where we see the Archeological Theatre, Manolis Bay that is famous for its sea caves. Then sails to the Isle of Chamili better known as the Blue Lagoon that is known for its blue crystal waters, afterwards we arrive at Fontana Amoroza, which is fantastic site, right in the heart of the bay where nature combines the beauty of the mountains and the sea for you all to enjoy. From here we continue the journey to the Peyia area where you can see the remains of a ship wreck; here you will be able also to relax by enjoying the Mediterranean sun and the surrounding crystal waters. Excursion start: 10:30 Return to the hotel: 17:30. After the relaxed and beautiful day, we will have our dinner in a great local tavern with special dishes and local Vine. Overnight at our Hotel.
Day 6: Free Day or Cultural Capital of Cyprus “Paphos” & Mosaic Museum
Just after breakfast, will head to the ancient capital of Cyprus – Paphos. Where we will see the Column of the Apostle Paul. Then, walk to the old town of Kato Paphos, through historic sites such as the Forty Columns (named after the large number of granite columns of the ancient Agora), built in the 7th century AD, the Roman Conservatory (Archaeological Park Square with mosaics). After lunch, we will visit Paphos Castle, House of Dionysus, which is a Roman Style Hellenistic building from 2nd. Century AD. Then, the famous mosaic museum of Paphos. Returning, we will pass via the Kremiotis Waterfall (October to April only), which is a lovely point on the way for a coffee break. Included dinner and overnight at our hotel in Paphos. Excursion start: 09:00 Return to the hotel: 18:00.
Day 7: Walking Through St. Minas Chapel, Aphrodite Baths & Adonis Trail.
Today’s excellent walk will be full of history, culture and churches the walk will start from our hotel and via Neo Chorio Village we will reach to St. Minas Chapel, which is the late 17th. century church with great history for locals. Then, through forest, by following the Goat Paths, we will reach to Adonis Trail, then Famous Aphrodite Bath. Where it is, legendary bathing place of the goddess of love. The dim and distant past Aphrodite is supposed to have fun with Akamas and Adonis in the pool that is fed by a spring. Great view of the Mediterranean Sea, lovely forest, flowers as well as birds. Please bear in mind, you are inside a real internationally accepted “National Park”. Total walk will be 12 km, and it is accepted as easy to moderate. Gala night with Cypriot live music, dancing, local dishes and entertainment. Support vehicle will be with us during the day, so the once who prefer less walk, may jump in for a while.
Day 8: Goodbye Cyprus - See you again!
Depending on the departure of your flight, we will arrange your transfer by bus to Larnaca / Paphos airport.
