Program
Day 1: Friday, May 23: We depart from the airport GLAFKOS KLIRIDIS Larnaca and arrive at the airport MAKEDONIA Thessaloniki. We depart by minibus for OURANOUPOLI. During the route we will have a stop for snacks and / or coffee (optional) in Polygyros, Halkidiki. Finally, we will spend the night in a hotel in Ouranoupoli. Rest of the day free.
Day 2: Saturday, May 24: After breakfast, after receiving our accommodation from the Pilgrims' Office, we prepare for our entry to Mount Athos with the Agiorite Lines at 09:45, with destination the Holy Monastery of Xenophon, where we will spend the night. We follow the rituals of the Monastery and optionally in the afternoon we will go on foot (30 minutes walk) to the neighboring I.M. TOCHIARIOU to worship the miraculous icon of PANAGIA of GORGOUPIKOOU.
Day 3: Sunday, May 25: After the Divine Liturgy and the table we will depart by taxi bus for the capital of Mount Athos, KARYES. There we have the opportunity to worship the miraculous icon "WORTHY BEING", the icon of PANAGIA "FOVERA PROTECTION" in the Holy Monastery of KOUTLOUMOUSIOU and the Holy Relic of the APOSTLE ANDREAS in the Holy Skete of the same name where we will spend the night. The program of the Monastery is followed. In the afternoon optional Also for those who wish there will be time for those who wish to go on foot for a pilgrimage to the Skete of Saint Paisios as well as to the Skete of Elder Gabriel to receive his blessing.
Day 4: Tuesday, May 26: Participation in the Divine Liturgy, the bank and immediately after departure for Daphne where we will take the boat “Agia Anna” towards the Holy Monastery of DIONYSIOS, where we will spend the night. We follow the rituals of the Monastery.
Day 5: Wednesday, May 27: After the Divine Liturgy and the bank we will take the boat “Agia Anna” again to return to Daphne and from there to Ouranoupoli for our exit from Mount Athos. In Ouranoupoli the bus will be waiting for us to transfer us to THESSALONIKI, this time via the Egnatia Motorway. In between we will stop for lunch and/or coffee (optional). After receiving our rooms at the hotel, in the late afternoon there will be a tour (on foot) of the city. We will pay homage to the patron saint, Saint Demetrius, proceed towards Aristotelous Square and end up in Ladadika, where a group dinner at a local tavern usually follows (optional).
Day 6: Thursday, May 28: After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we will go to the airport for our return to Cyprus loaded with blessings and new experiences.
