Program

Day 1 (M. Thursday): Larnaca - Athens - Preveza
Gathering at Larnaca airport and flight to Athens. Arrival, pick-up and departure for the Isthmus, stop at Akrata on the National Road for coffee. We continue for the Rio - Antirio bridge. Arrival in Preveza and check-in at our hotel. This is followed by a tour of Preveza to get to know this beautiful city. We will see the house where the poet Karyotakis lived, the Metropolitan Church of Agios Charalambos with the historic Venetian clock tower of 1752, the Shaitan Bazaar, the city's Central Market and we will end up at the coastal pedestrian street. Those who wish can relax in one of the many cafes on the beach or taste Lenten snacks in the city's taverns. Watching the Crucifixion at the church of Agios Charalambos and overnight stay.

Day 2 (Good Friday): Cruise on the Acheron River - Parga
After breakfast we depart for the mouth of the Acheron River, where we will have a boat ride on the water paths of the mythical river. We continue to Parga, tour the narrow streets and free time for lunch. Return in the afternoon to our hotel. In the evening we will watch the procession of the Epitaphs on the main streets of the historical center that end at Androutsos Square and the philharmonic orchestra will accompany with mournful marches.

Day 3 (Good Saturday): Preveza - Lefkada
Breakfast and gathering at the picturesque cobblestone "Saitan Pazar" where the custom of the first Resurrection will be revived. As soon as the priest of the Metropolitan Church of Agios Charalambos signals the first Resurrection, the sounds of firecrackers awaken the city, while clay jugs break on the paved streets of Shaitan. This is a custom that dates back to the time of the Turkish occupation and residents and shopkeepers observe it to this day. At that time, the people of Preveza made their own firecrackers in order to keep the Turks away during the holy days of Easter. After the events and early in the afternoon, we depart for Lefkada. After passing the Preveza-Aktion underwater tunnel and the floating bridge, we arrive in the city of Lefkada and continue to the historic monastery of Faneromeni, which is located on a hill above the city. Return to Lefkada town and time to walk through the beautiful alleys and small squares, with traditional houses and paved sidewalks. Return to our hotel. In the evening we will attend the Easter Mass. Dinner with Mageiritsa and red eggs follows in a local restaurant. Overnight.

Day 4 (Easter Sunday): Vonitsa - Easter meal
Christ is Risen!!! Breakfast and we depart for the jewel of the Amvrakikos Gulf, the coastal town of Vonitsa, located just 30 minutes from our hotel. Free time to wander through the neighborhoods with their traditional color, visit the church of Agios Spyridon and Agios Nikolaos and head to the marina of Vonitsa and cool off in one of the city's cafes. We continue to the fairy-tale village of Monastiraki, located at an altitude of 300 meters, immersed in plane trees and running waters. Here we will have a traditional Easter meal with obelia and music. Free time in the central square, and by climbing the bridge you will see the Kefalovrysos River that crosses the village. Return to our hotel and the rest of the day is free.

Day 5 (Easter Monday): Preveza Athens - Larnaca
Breakfast and we depart for the Athens airport where we will take the flight to Larnaca with intermediate stops.
