Program

Day 1 (Good Friday): LARNAKA - THESSALONIKI - KASTORIA
Gathering at Larnaka airport and flight to Thessaloniki. Arrival, pick-up and departure for the beautiful Kastoria that is reflected in its lake, with intermediate stops in Veria and the convent of Panagia Mikrokastro in the Siatista area. Arrival, check-in at the hotel and rest. Early in the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Aquarium, the largest freshwater aquarium in the Balkans, as well as the Kastoria Cave or “Dragon’s Cave” where 10,000-year-old bear bones have been found! According to tradition, in this truly impressive cave there was a gold mine guarded by a vigilant dragon, from which it got its name, while its entrance resembles the shape of its mouth. Later we will see Panagia Mavriotissa and we will have time to walk along the lakeside road of the city. Walk to Doltso, the old town with its narrow paved streets, the old mansions that remind us of the heyday of another era. We will stay in the city of Kastoria to watch the Epitaph service. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 2 (M. Saturday): PRESPES - AGIOS GERMANOS - PSARADES - AGIOS ACHILLEIOS
After the rich buffet breakfast and departure for the prefecture of Florina, which is also home to perhaps the largest wetland in the Balkans. We will get to know the Prespes, the famous “multinational” lakes, two of the six in the prefecture, on which the borders of Greece, the former Yugoslavia and Albania pass. In Mikri Prespa, the attraction is the islet of Agios Achillios where a floating bridge gives us the opportunity to visit it and admire the homonymous basilica after first stopping in the village of Agios Germanos. Furthermore, on the banks of Megali Prespa, the remote but hospitable village of Psarades is characterized by its friendly residents and small taverns where those who wish can taste local traditional products - roasted Florina peppers, Prespa beans, giants and roasted grivadi (fish from the fresh waters of the lake) with local tsipouro. Departure for Kastoria and return to our hotel. Rest and transfer to a nearby church to watch the Easter service. Easter dinner at our hotel.

Day 3 (Easter Sunday): KASTORIA
Christ is Risen! After breakfast, free time to enjoy the hotel's amenities. The traditional roasting of obelia, the various ouzo snacks from early in the hotel garden and the music create traditional Easter moments that we will enjoy until late afternoon. Early in the evening we will take our walk in the city center and return to our hotel. Overnight.

Day 4 (Easter Monday): KASTORIA - NYMFAEO - THESSALONIKI
After breakfast we depart for Nymfaio, it is a preserved traditional settlement and historical site, one of the most beautiful in Greece and according to UNESCO, one of the 10 most beautiful in all of Europe! Free time for a walk and we continue with a stopover to Thessaloniki. Arrival and check-in at our hotel. The rest of the day is free to take a walk in Aristotelous Square and visit the Thessaloniki METRO.

Day 5 (Easter Tuesday): THESSALONIKI - LARNACA
After breakfast, transfer to Thessaloniki airport where we will take the return flight.
