Program

Day 1: Larnaca - Frankfurt - Strasbourg
Meeting at Larnaca airport where we will take the flight to Frankfurt. Arrival reception by our leader and immediate departure for the magical "capital of Christmas" Strasbourg. Where the first Christmas market in Europe was set up 452 years ago! Overnight.

Day 2: Strasbourg (tour)
Breakfast and we will start the city tour. The historic center was designated as a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO. We will walk through the old town, full of picturesque houses with wood and paint, where the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg and the astronomical clock dominate and in the old neighborhood of the city "little France" where fishermen and tanners used to have their houses. In the Chateau square is the Roan tower which today houses the main museums of the city, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Decorative Arts. Free time on the pedestrian streets of the city for coffee or food. We will visit the Strasbourg Christmas market which covers the entire old town. Here Christmas is everywhere, in every corner, in every restaurant, cafe and shop you will meet on your way. With more than 300 stalls overflowing with thousands of Christmas goodies, pretzels and caramel apples, toys and decorations, traditional food and local beers, mulled wine and decorations, Christkindelsmärik is for many the most perfect Christmas market you will ever visit.

Day 3: Strasbourg – Colmar – Riquewihr
Breakfast and we depart for Colmar, the "Jewel of Alsace", located on the wine route. We will tour its historic centre, dominated by traditional houses built on the banks of the River Lough. We will see the Cathedral dedicated to Saint Martin. Free time in the most beautiful part of the city, Little Venice characterized by canals and elaborate bridges. Our next stop is the village of Ricvir, a popular tourist destination, mainly because of its architecture. It is also known as "The village of winegrowers", as most of the inhabitants are engaged in the cultivation of grapes and the production of wine. The village perfectly preserves its medieval character both in the residential architecture and in the preservation of elements of the medieval wall. The Dolder tower, which forms the west gate, dates from the 13th century. Late afternoon return to Strasbourg.

Day 4: Strasbourg - Heidelberg - Frankfurt
Breakfast and at noon departure for the economic and commercial center of Germany, Frankfurt. En route stop in romantic Heidelberg where we will see the market square dominated by the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, the University buildings and the ornate Jesuit church. Arrival in Frankfurt followed by guided tour. The German Stock Exchange and the European Central Bank are based here. Tour of Romer, the Renaissance fountain of Justice, the church of Agios Nikolaos and the Apostle Paul. After visiting the Cathedral of Saint Bartholomew, we will go up to the famous Eicherner Steg bridge with the imposing sign inscribed with Homer's lines from the Odyssey: "PLEON EPI OINOPA PONTON OP ALLOTHROUS ANTHROPOUS".

Day 5: Strasbourg - Frankfurt - Larnaca
Breakfast and departure to Frankfurt airport where we will take the return flight to Larnaca.
