Program
Day 1: LARNACA - ATHENS - NAPLES
Meeting at Larnaca airport and flight to the capital of Campania, the thousand-sung Naples, a city full of noise and full of contrasts, home of the famous tenor Enrico Caruso, pizza and Sophia Loren. Naples is colorful and charming with extroverted people. One of the oldest and richest in European cities in history and culture, with the historic center being declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In our panoramic tour we will see the Paccanapoli district with its narrow picturesque streets and the busy Via San Biaggio, which crosses the city, the Castello del Uovo, the Royal Palace, the Uberto Stoa and the oldest Opera House in Europe, the Thea. San Carlo. Finally we will be on the hill Posillipo to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and Mount Vesuvius. Transfer and accommodation at the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: NAPLES - SALERNO - POSITANO - AMALFI
After breakfast we will leave for Salerno. We will visit the Duomo and the particularly impressive crypt of St. Andrew located below the temple, with an ornate ceiling, double-sided statues, a variety of marbles and hagiographies that compose an image very different from the Crypt. Then we will take the boat for a magical cruise in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Our first visit is the beautiful Positano, which is perched on the top of the hill with its colorful houses and narrow alleys. Once a simple fishing village, today it has become one of the most chic seaside resorts in Europe. Free time to walk on its narrow and picturesque cobbled streets. Then departure for Amalfi built at the foot of the bay of the same name in Costa Amalfitana, one of the most shocking coasts in Europe. In our walking tour we will see the mansions, the Cathedral of St. Andrew with Byzantine, Arabic and Gothic architectural elements. Late afternoon return to Naples. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: NAPLES - CAPRI
Breakfast and immediately after we will take the speedboat to the enchanting island of dolce vita Capri. A place that has been adored for more than 2000 years by Roman emperors, politicians, famous artists and Hollywood stars, has for years maintained the first place in the preferences of the international jet set. The Roman mansions, the statues, the baths, the churches, the hanging stairs that end at the sea in a lush and colorful Mediterranean vegetation, remind a scene from another era. We also suggest a visit to one of the many caves and especially to the blue cave or enjoy a cool cocktail in the heart of the island, in Piazetta Square. Return to Naples late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: NAPLES - POMBIA - CASERTA - ROME
After breakfast departure for the archeological site of Pompeii buried by the lava and ash of Vesuvius in 79 AD. In the tour that follows we will see among others the Porta Marina, the ancient market, the theater, the temples of Zeus and Apollo, the baths, the luxurious villas with the famous frescoes (1st century BC), which provide us with a complete picture of the painting of the ancient world. Soon we will leave for Caserta, a great and historic city, rich in buildings with the main the impressive Royal Palace characterized as "the Versailles of Italy", which was a former royal residence. It was built by the Bourbons of Spain, who were kings of Naples and used it as their main residence. It is one of the largest palaces erected in Europe in the 18th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We continue with final destination Rome. Arrival, transfer and settlement at the hotel. Rest of the day free. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: ROME - TOUR
Breakfast and then a tour of the "eternal city". we will see the Colosseum, the largest ancient amphitheater in the world, the arch of Constantine the Great and the Roman market. Crossing Imperial Markets Street, we will reach the Capitol Hill and the Piazza Venezia with the impressive and massive monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of modern united Italy. We will also see the famous Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin and make a wish and finally the noisy and beautiful Piazza di Spagna. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the hotel and the rest of the day free. Overnight.
Day 6: ROME - VATICAN MUSEUMS
After breakfast visit to the independent state of the Vatican to tour its famous museums, with exhibits that include famous statues of the ancient world and the Renaissance. Passing through the famous corridors of the Candlesticks, the Tapestry, the Geographical maps and the rooms with the frescoes of Raphael we will reach the Sistine Chapel with the legendary roof painted by Michael Angelos. Then we will move to the majestic Basilica of St. Peter, the largest church in the world built on the tomb of the Apostle Peter, where among other things we will see the famous sculpture of Michael Angelos, the famous Pieta. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the hotel and free afternoon to stroll through the bustling picturesque squares of Rome and enjoy an espresso or the famous Italian ice cream. Overnight.
Day 7-8: ROME - CASTEL ROMANO (OUTLET) -LARNACA
After breakfast we will visit Castel Romano, one of the largest Outlet, with countless stores of branded companies to do your shopping at incredibly low prices. We will then be transferred to Rome Airport to take the return flight. Arrival in Larnaca at dawn on the 8th day, impressed by the enchanting images and landscapes of the authentic cities we visited.
