Program

Day 1 - Monday 07/7: Larnaca - Thessaloniki: Meeting at Larnaca Airport and departure for Thessaloniki. Arrival at Macedonia Airport, baggage collection, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Free time for shopping and/or a walk in the center of Thessaloniki. Those who wish (optional) can go with the guide for a city tour and visit the holy church of Agios Dimitrios and Aristotelous Square. In the evening, dinner will follow at Ladadika and overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

Day 2 - Tuesday 08/07: Thessaloniki - Drama - Agia Varvara Springs - Aggitis Springs - Komotini: Breakfast and departure for Drama with an intermediate stop for coffee (optional). In the heart of Drama, a small paradise unfolds – the springs of Agia Varvara which we will visit. Then we will have the opportunity to admire the cave of the Aggitis River, which has the uniqueness of being the largest river cave in the world. After the tour, lunch and/or coffee will follow (optional). Then we will move towards Komotini where we will spend the night. Arrival in Komotini, check-in at the hotel and free time.

Day 3 - Wednesday 09/07: Komotini - Soufli - Holy Monastery of Portaitissa / Kornofolia - Didymoteichon - Orestiada: Breakfast and departure for our excursion to Evros, with the first stop being the “City of Silk”, Soufli. Next, we will visit the Holy Monastery of Portaitissa in Kornofolia of Evros, where we will have the opportunity to worship the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary of Portaitissa as well as the relics of the foot of Saint Charalambos. Then we will head to Didymoteicho for a tour of the city and then to Orestiada with its low houses and green spaces, where we will also have time for lunch and/or coffee (optional). Finally, we follow the opposite route and return to Komotini, with an intermediate stop. In the evening, dinner will follow in a tavern in the city and overnight stay.

Day 4 - Thursday 10/07: Komotini - Samothrace: After breakfast, we move to Alexandroupolis from whose port we will take the boat to the "Holy Island" of the paradise Samothrace. After a 2-hour trip we will arrive at the port of Kamariotissa and a tour of the lush green island with its wild virgin nature follows. We will visit the pedestals on Mount Saos, the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, as well as the facilities of the island's thermal baths. There will be time for lunch and/or coffee (optional). Return to Komotini, where we will spend the night.

Day 5 - Friday 11/07: Komotini - Alexandroupolis - Maistros - Xanthi: Breakfast and departure for Alexandroupolis. Alexandroupoli is the capital of the Evros Regional Unit and is the largest city in the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. It is an important port and commercial center of northeastern Greece. We will tour both the beach where the city's trademark, the famous lighthouse, is located, as well as the bustling center with the city's main shops. We will have the opportunity for lunch and/or coffee (optional), depending on the time available. Then we will head to the village of Maistros, which is located just outside Alexandroupoli in a prominent position, to worship at the chapel of Agios Paisios. Our final destination for today is the beautiful Xanthi. Check-in at the hotel and overnight stay - free time.

Day 6 - Saturday 12/07: Xanthi - Keramoti Kavala - Thassos - Xanthi: Breakfast and departure for Keramoti Kavala from where we will take the boat to the diamond island of the North Aegean, Thassos where we will enjoy the unique picturesqueness and worship at the wonderful monastery of Archangel Michael, from where we will gaze at the Athos peninsula, Mount Athos. Time available for lunch and/or coffee (optional). Return to Xanthi for rest. Dinner follows at a tavern in the city and overnight stay.

Day 7 - Sunday 13/07: Xanthi - Porto Lagos - Thessaloniki - Larnaca: Breakfast and departure for the picturesque Porto Lagos, with visits to Panagia Pantanassa and the church of Agios Nikolaos, located in the Vistonida lagoon. The churches are built on two islets that the wooden bridge leads us to. Then we will head towards Thessaloniki, with an intermediate stop for lunch and/or coffee (optional). We will end up at Macedonia airport to take the return flight with our suitcases full of experiences and many new memories from our trip.
