Program

DAY 1: LARNAKA-THESSALONIKI
Meeting at Larnaca Airport. Arrangement of luggage and departure for Macedonia Airport. Arrival. Collection of luggage and departure by luxury air-conditioned bus to Thessaloniki. Check in at the hotel. Free time. In the afternoon, watching the vespers at the celebratory Church of Agios Dimitrios, the patron saint of Thessaloniki. Overnight.

DAY 2: THESSALONIKI
Breakfast. Church to watch the solemn liturgy and praise, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Demetrius. Then a pilgrimage to the Metropolitan Church of Agios Gregorios Palamas, where the holy tabernacle of the Saint is located, and to the Cathedral of Agia Sophia. Then a tour of the city, where we will see the White Tower, the Arch of Galerius (arch), the Rotunda, the Upper Town with the castles and the Heptapyrgio (Jedi Koule). Free time. Overnight.

DAY 3: THESSALONIKI
Breakfast. Free day. Overnight.

DAY 4: THESSALONIKI-PANAGIA SOUMELA-MONI DOBRA-NAOUSSA-EDESSA-THESSALONIKI
Breakfast. Departure for the village of Kastania in the Vermio mountain, where we will visit Panagia Soumela. This magnificent temple was built by Pontus refugees, as an attempt to revive the historical Monastery of the same name, on Mount Mela, near Trebizond, Pontus. Here is her miraculous icon, cross and gospel, brought from the Pontus by the refugees. We continue to Veria for a visit and pilgrimage to the Holy Monastery of Dobra, with the miraculous icon dedicated to the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A piece of the holy relics of Saint Luke the Physician is kept here. Next, passing through Naoussa, we will visit Edessa, where you can admire the waterfalls and have your coffee. Return to Thessaloniki. Free time. Overnight.

DAY 5: SERRES-PANAGAIA EKOSIPHONISSA-DRAMA-MONAST OF ASCENSION (TOMB OF SAINT GEORGIOS KARSLIDI)- ALISTRATES CAVE
Breakfast. Departure for a visit and pilgrimage to the Holy Monastery of Panagia Eikosifinissa, in Serres with its miraculous handmade icon and its wonderful iconostasis. Immediately afterwards we leave for Drama. Stop for coffee and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings at the springs-lakes in the Park of Agia Varvara. Then a visit and pilgrimage to the Holy Monastery of the Ascension of the Savior (tomb of Agios Georgios Karslides), located in the Taxiarchon (Sipsa) neighborhood of Drama. Here the nuns are engaged in iconography and follow the Byzantine tradition. Then a visit to Alistratis Cave, one of the largest caves in Europe to admire the stalactites and stalagmites (entry optional). Return to Thessaloniki. Free time. Overnight.

DAY 6: THESSALONIKI - MACEDONIA AIRPORT - LARNACA
Breakfast. Free time. Departure to Macedonia Airport for the return flight. On the way we will pass by Souroti, where we will visit the Holy Monastery of Agios Ioannis the Theologian. Here is the tomb of Agios Paisios and the relics of Agios Arsenios.
