Program:
Day 1 Monday 29 Sep: Larnaca - Thessaloniki:
Departure from Larnaca airport, for Thessaloniki. Arrival at "Macedonia" airport, collection of our luggage and after boarding the bus we depart directly to the hotel. Free time to explore the city.
Day 2 Tuesday 30 Sep: Thessaloniki - Holy Monastery of St. Ephraim (Katerini) - Litochoro - Paralia Katerinis:
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the Holy Monastery of St. Ephraim located in Kontariotissa of Katerinis (Arrival, pilgrimage, tour of the beautiful and quiet monastery). It was founded only in 1983 and is one of the newest monasteries near the imposing Olympus. Then we will visit Litochoro at the foot of Olympus. After visiting the Holy Monastery of Agios Dionysios Olympus, we can walk through the famous Enipeas Gorge, a route that is dazzling from the start with the river flowing beneath us, the beautiful traditional wooden bridges and the path between pine and beech trees. We will then go to the town square where we will have time to rest, have coffee and dessert (optional). Then we will go to the beach of Katerini for a walk next to the wave for food and coffee (optional). Finally, we will take our way back to the co-capital. The rest of the time is free for shopping and touring the city.
Day 3 Wednesday 01 Oct: Veria – Naoussa – Aridaia – Loutra Pozart:
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the hospitable and lively Veria. Our stops will be the church of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of the city, and the Vima of the Apostle Paul, one of the most important sights of the city, since it was there that the saint taught the word of Christ to the residents of Veria. Then we will head towards Naoussa and visit the Panhellenic recreation center, the grove of Saint Nicholas. An earthly paradise in the heart of Imathia, which impresses the visitor with its centuries-old grove of plane trees, the vast greenery, the ponds with ducks, the rare bird farm and the running waters. There we will have time to relax, walk and eat at a tavern where we will have the opportunity to taste the local trout (optional). Finally, we head to the famous Pozart Baths, which we will visit, after checking in to our overnight hotel.
Day 4 Thursday 02 Oct: Aridaia - Holy Monastery of Saint Hilarion - Aridaia - Pozart Baths:
After breakfast, we will visit the Holy Monastery of Saint Hilarion, Bishop of Moglen. It is a wonderful place, one of the most ideal for calming the human soul. We will then stop for coffee and a walk in Aridaia. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing in the Baths and enjoying the lush and idyllic wider area based on greenery and water. The spa therapy is done in the thermal waters that come from mineral springs and gush at a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. Balneotherapy provides stimulation and relaxation, while at the same time the use of the waters helps in combating circulatory, respiratory, rheumatic, gynecological and dermatological diseases.
Day 5 Friday 03 Oct: Aridaia – Edessa – Giannitsa – Thessaloniki - Airport “MACEDONIA”:
After breakfast and check-out from the hotel we take our last walk enjoying the charismatic nature of the area and depart for the city of waters, the beautiful Edessa. We will visit its famous waterfalls, formed by the Edessa River, which flows through the city and its lush park. We will also get to know the Varosi district, which means castle. From the location “Psilos Vrachos” a beautiful place hanging on the rock and from which we can enjoy the view of the valley of Edessa and Pella, Mount Vermio and the ancient city. From Edessa we will go to the largest city of the Pella Regional Unit, Giannitsa, where we will have time to walk around the city and take souvenir photos at the Clock Tower. Saying goodbye to Giannitsa, we head for Thessaloniki and end up at the airport for the return trip to Larnaca (if time permits, we make a stop for coffee), with our suitcases full of beautiful memories and blessings from our excursion.
