We suggest you take a walk to enjoy the amazing river valley, visit the churches, the folklore museum and the traditional shops with sweets and nice things made by the women of the association. We continue to Mikro Chorio which is one of the most popular destinations in the prefecture. It consists of the Old and the New Mikro Chorio. They have their own history, as on December 13, 1942, a battle took place between the rebels of Aris Velouchiotis and 2000 Italians. The invaders in retaliation, burned alive and executed 13 people. This battle is considered pan-European as the first battle-resistance against the fascist regime. Another stage in the history of the village is the great disaster experienced in January 1963, where after extensive rains, a landslide completely destroyed 2/3 of the village and 13 people were lost. In 1968, Neo Mikro Chorio was rebuilt after a fundraiser. Return to our hotel. In the evening we will attend the service of the Epitaph in the central square of Karpenisi. Here the Epitaphians and the Metropolitan meet and the priests sing prayers while the philharmonic plays mournful dirges. Overnight.
