Program:
Day 1 (Thursday): LARNACA – THESSALONIKI - KALAMPAKA
Gathering at Larnaca Airport and departure for Thessaloniki. Arrival, pick-up and departure for Kalambaka with a stopover. Arrival at the hotel departure for the church where we will experience the evolution of the Divine Drama in the sequence of the Divine Supper and the Passion with the 12 evangelical cuts narrating the Theman's Path to Calvary.
Day 2 (Friday): KALAMBAKA- TRIKALA - LAKE LAKE PLASTIRA
After breakfast we head to the beautiful Lake Plastira. First stop at Trikala followed by a tour to see the Lithaios River and the Main Bridge, the fortress of the city, the Kursum Mosque, the old town consisting of the districts of Varousi and Manavika, the train station, the court house and the Old Palace -Cleaf ice cream shops. We continue on the Lake Plastira tour with stops at the Koroni Men's Monastery, the village of Lambero and the beautiful Neochori. Free time to eat and return to our hotel in the afternoon. The mourning Good Friday concludes with the funeral service of the four parishioners. Overnight.
Day 3 - Saturday: Kalambaka - Pili - Pertouli - Neraidochori - Elati
Breakfast and departure for the beautiful resorts of Pindos. The first stop we will make at the Gate is to visit the 12th century Byzantine church of Porta Panagia with the image of Our Lady of Deixocrates. Next, we will depart for the stone-built Porta Bridge which was built in 1514 and is the second largest monolithic bridge in Thessaly. Then going uphill and passing Elati and Pertouli we will reach Neraidochori and free time to eat. We continue to Elati, one of the picturesque villages of Pindos. Time to stroll around the village and enjoy your afternoon coffee. Return to our hotel early in the afternoon and rest. In the evening visit to a nearby church for the Resurrection. Following is a dinner with a cook and red eggs at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 4 - Easter Sunday: KALABAKA - METEORA - METSOVO
Breakfast and we go up to the last rock of Meteora to visit the Monastery of St. Stephen. The monastery was founded by Kantakouzenos around the end of the 14th century and the katholikon was painted with magnificent icons in 1501. We continue on to the picturesque Metsovo famous for its great cultural development, mainly because it is the birthplace of some of the most important National Benefactors, such as is Averoff and Tositsa. Here we will enjoy a traditional Greek Easter, with all its customs and customs, and have time to walk the cobbled streets, see the stone houses, the old traditional fountains and most of all the spectacular scenery that remains unchanged over time. Return to our hotel after the Easter meal. Overnight.
Day 5 - Easter Monday: KALABAKA - THESSALONIKI - LARNACA
Breakfast and say goodbye to Kalambaka heading to Thessaloniki. We will stop for coffee in Tempi and depending on our time transfer to the airport for the return flight to Larnaca with pictures that will accompany us for some time.
