Program
Day 1: LARNACA - ROME
Gathering at Larnaca airport and direct flight to Rome. Arrival in the "Eternal City", pick-up and transfer to our hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: ROME - TOUR - VATICAN
Breakfast and in the following tour we will see the Colosseum, the largest ancient amphitheater in the world, the Arch of Constantine the Great and the Roman Forum. Passing through the Imperial Markets Street, we will reach the Capitoline Hill and Piazza Venezia with the impressive and massive monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of modern united Italy. We will also see the famous Trevi Fountain, where you can throw a coin, making a wish, and the bustling Piazza di Spagna, one of the most beautiful squares in Italy with the majestic Spanish Steps and the beautiful church, creating one of the most beautiful "frames" of Rome. We continue to the Vatican and the magnificent Basilica of the Apostle Peter, the largest church in the world built on the tomb of the Saint, where among other things we will see the well-known sculpture of Michelangelo, the famous Pieta. The rest of the day is free to take your walks. Discover the picturesque districts of Rome, such as the beautiful Trastevere, which has managed to maintain its authenticity over the years. Narrow cobblestone streets, with restaurants and bars bustling with life, create a unique setting reminiscent of old Italian cinema. Overnight stay.
Day 3: ROME - SIENA - PIZA - FLORENCE
After breakfast, departure for a visit to the medieval city of Siena. Eleven streets lead to the beautiful central square Piazza del Campo, where the medieval Town Hall dominates. On our tour of the picturesque cobblestone streets of the city, we will admire the medieval mansions, churches and the Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which is considered one of the most important in all of Italy. Then we will visit the historic city of Pisa with its medieval walls and the famous leaning tower, which is one of the most photographed sights in the world, which has been admiring visitors for 800 years. We continue to the city of the Renaissance, Florence, where we arrive late in the afternoon. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 4: FLORENCE - TOUR
Breakfast and tour of the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Florence. The city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On our panoramic tour we will see Piazza San Giovanni with the Baptistery of St. John and the Renaissance Cathedral and Santa Maria del Fiore with the famous dome of Brunelleschi. Continuing, we will descend to Piazza de la Signoria, which adorns the Fountain of Poseidon and the famous Palazzo Vecchio, which today houses the City Hall of the city. We continue to the famous Uffizi Gallery, (external visit) the famous and much-photographed Ponte Vecchio bridge with its countless jewelry stores, and Piazza Repubblica, one of the most central squares of Florence with the characteristic Arcone arch and the historic cafes. Free time to visit the San Lorenzo market or the Pitti Palace, the luxurious residence of the Medici. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5: FLORENCE - FERRARI MUSEUM - VERONA - VENICE
After breakfast, departure for Venice. On the way, we will visit the Ferrari Museum, which opened for the first time in 1990. A multitude of all the models of the famous automobile manufacturer, as well as their engines, will offer you an incredible experience. Then we will visit romantic Verona, where we will see the famous Roman Arena, and the beautiful Piazza del Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, surrounded by perfectly preserved medieval buildings and of course the "Capulet mansion" with Juliet's legendary balcony. We continue to Venice. Arrival and transfer to our hotel in the Mestre area of Venice. Overnight.
Day 6: VENICE - TOUR
Breakfast and departure for the most romantic city in the world, built on 118 small islands connected by approximately 410 bridges, and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will take the vaporetto and end up in the Castello area, where the Orthodox church of Saint George and the Byzantine Institute are located. Passing through picturesque bridges and narrow alleys, we will see the imposing Doge's Palace, in Venetian-Gothic style and we will end up in St. Mark's Square, where the famous, homonymous Cathedral, the bell tower, the Clock Tower, the Marcian Library and the famous Carrera Museum are located. Finally, we will visit one of the few Murano glassmaking workshops. Free time and return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 7: VENICE - RAVENNA - CUMBIO - PERUGIA
After breakfast, departure for the Umbria region, the "green heart of Italy", with the first stop being Ravenna, a picturesque destination that stands out thanks to its special appearance, which promises every visitor unprecedented images and Byzantine scenes that will transport you to another era, since it is known as the "city of mosaics". Then we will visit the medieval village of Gubbio with important monuments such as the Roman theater, the Palazzo dei Consoli, the cathedral and the unique Piazza Grande square. We continue for our final destination, the capital of Umbria, Perugia, which is full of history, culture and natural beauty. With its stunning views of the green valleys and its Renaissance heritage, Perugia promises to enchant you. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 8: PERUGIA - ORVIETO - ROME - LARNACA
Breakfast and guided tour of the city. From Corso Vannucci we will see the Rocca Paolina, the labyrinthine medieval streets of the city and we will end up in Piazza Novembre with the Fontana Maggiore, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Priori Palace. We continue with a visit to the unique Orvieto, located in southwestern Umbria and offering an authentic taste of Italian tradition. Among other things, we will see the Gothic cathedral, the Pozzo di San Patrizio, an impressive 60-meter deep well with a double spiral staircase and the 14th century Albornoz fortress, which offers panoramic views of the Orvieto valley. Departure for Rome airport to take the return flight. Arrival in Larnaca late in the evening with the images of this unique country with its rich culture and history forever etched in our minds.
